Reliance Jio could extend deadline for Prime membership subscription
While Reliance
Jio’s free data offers are finally coming to its end on March 31, there
are reports surfacing that the company might extend the Prime
membership enrolment for one more month. Enrolment for Prime membership
costs Rs 99 but the company has announced cash back offers that
‘technically’ makes it free when you recharge your Jio number.
There are bunch of lucrative data offers, free unlimited calling and also covers Jio services like Jio TV, Jio Music, and more. With these attractive offers, Jio is putting all its strength to be the most affordably priced 4G network in the country. Despite of the unmatched offers, there are many Jio users who still haven’t registered for the Prime membership yet. Looking at the current scenario, the company might want to extend the enrollment date for one more month.
According to a report from TeleAnalysis, the company may extend the deadline to sign-up for the Jio Prime membership because of lower than expected registrations. It is said that only 22-27 million existing Jio users have enrolled for the Prime membership, which is 50 percent less than company’s expectations.
Looking at the past, it is quite relatable that Reliance Jio may come up with an extension plan at the last moment; similar to the ‘Happy New Year’ offer right after the end of ‘Welcome offer’.
It is also true that a lot of Jio users will be enrolling for the membership in last days, like I did. As we are in the last week of March, we can expect huge number of subscriptions this week. Maybe this is the reason why company is waiting before making announcing the extension.

Existing Jio users can opt for Prime subscriptions from Wednesday till
March 31, 2017. Those who do not own a Jio SIM can also avail the Prime
membership if they get a Jio connection before March 31. After the end
of free services, Reliance Jio subscribers won't be able to avail the
services at Rs. 303 per month.
